Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP is a Canadian law firm with Canadian offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City, and international offices in London, Paris, and Johannesburg.

The Canadian Environmental Law Guide was originally prepared by the Environmental Law Group of Russell & DuMoulin, which is now part of the merged firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. The Environmental Law Group has, since 1987, provided advice in the areas of environmental and natural resources law to industries and businesses in Canada and internationally.

Editor-in-Chief:

Paul Wilson

Paul Wilson is a partner in Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP’s Vancouver office and leads the firm’s national environmental and energy practices. He has practiced in environmental and natural resources law for over 25 years in western and northern Canada.

He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia law school and assists clients with environmental aspects of transactions, environmental assessment, permitting, environmental management, due diligence requirements, and other environmental matters.

Mr. Wilson is a frequent speaker at environmental conferences and has authored many papers on environmental topics. He is listed in the Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada guides and in Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Environmental Lawyers.

Bruce Harrison

Bruce Harrison is an associate in Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP’s Vancouver office. He practises in the firm’s global mining and energy group, with significant focus on project development, commercial agreements, and environmental compliance.

Mr. Harrison frequently advises clients on environmental permitting and compliance in transactions and operational decision making. He has penned several articles on environmental issues affecting natural resource companies in Canada and was a contributor to the Canadian Environmental Law Guide for several years before becoming contributing editor.

He is an avid outdoorsman, having grown up in several logging communities on Haida Gwaii, on Vancouver Island, and in the interior of British Columbia. Prior to joining Fasken Martineau, he attended the University of Victoria Law School and owned a small logging company.
