Martin Fern is an internationally recognized authority on franchising, intellectual property licensing and contract law, and has testified in federal and state courts as an expert in numerous cases on franchise and distribution law issues. His law practice emphasizes franchising, licensing, entertainment, and technology.
Mr. Fern is the author of numerous publications. He is the co-author of the three-volume Franchising Law: Practice and Forms, the leading treatise on franchising law, and Intellectual Property, a single-volume, readily accessible guide to a complex subject for those who are not specialists in this area. He is also the author of numerous other law books, published articles, and speeches on franchising, distribution, and intellectual property law.
Mr. Fern is a member of the New York and California Bars. He has been the ABA Advisor to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, and has held the position of Chairman for the ABA Subcommittee on Franchising, the California Franchise Legislation Committee, and the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee of the International Franchise Association.
